Notification to the king of France of the appointment of Imbert Guidonis, seneschal of the Limousin, Quercy and Perigord, to exact and obtain as often as need be a court of the king's men in the court of the king of France and to show them justice in the said court according to the custom of those parts.

Inspeximus and confirmation of letters patent of Edward
the king's son dated at St. Edmunds, 21 February, 51 Henry III, granting to Edmund his
brother, that if Edmund marry some noble lady with the grantor's assent, and
die leaving her surviving, he will assign to her whatever he has in the
bishoprics of Perigueux, Limoges, and Cahors, to hold in dower for
her life.

Bond to Master Richard de Stanes, guardian of the bishopric of London, in 100 marks which W. [archbishop] elect of York received from him as a loan to the king's use ; with promise to repay this sum out of the first receipts of the tenth of the said bishopric granted to the king by the pope.
To the king of France. The king has appointed John de Grelly, seneschal of Gascony, Imbert Gwy, seneschal of the Limousin, Quercy and Perigord, John de la Linde, king's knight, and Brunus de Saye, to require and obtain as often as may be necessary the king's court for his men impleaded in the court of the king of France, and to show justice to the said men in the said court of the king according to the custom of those parts; and he requests the king of France to receive them or their substitutes.
A like letter is directed ' Omnibus ' to obtain the king's court touching the countess of Limoges and Bozo de Burdelia and others the king's men in the dioceses of Limoges, Perigueux and Cahors, impleaded in the French king's court.

Pemys as the king's proctors in all causes moved against the king in the court
of the king of France hy the bishop and chapter of the church of le Puy (Aniciensis). The vicomtesse
of Limoges and other persons of the cities and
dioceses of Perigueux, Limoges and Cahors ; with power to require
the king's court in respect of those persons and things whereof he has
cognisance ; and with power to make a competent exchange with the king of France of persons, lands and things which
that king has in the said cities and dioceses and which by letters of himself
or his predecessors he cannot put out of his hands.

Confirmation of the award made by the queen of
Prance on the controversies and clauses between the king and Edward his son of
the one part and Reynold de Pontibus and Margaret his wife, daughter of the
sometime Ellis Rudel, lord of Bergerac, of the other part, touching the castle of Bergerac and other things long ago discussed
in the court of Louis, king of France, as appears more fully in letters sealed
with the queen's seal beginning 'Noverint universi' and ending ‘Actum
est hoc Par’ fer’ secunda post Dominicam qua cantatur Letare Jerusalem', 1263.'

Appointment of Humbert Guidonis and Master
William de Clifford as the king's proctors in the court of the king of France, in all causes moved by the bishop
and chapter of Puy and the vicountess of Limoges and other ecclesiastical and
secular persons of the cities and dioceses of Perigueux, Limoges and Cahors, and in all causes moved
by the king or his proctors against the aforesaid persons : with power to
require and receive from the king of France a competent exchange of persons,
lands and goods which the said king has in the said cities and dioceses ; and
to do everything as though the king were present in person in the instant parliament
after Holy Trinity, and on all other days appointed in the said court for the
said matters.

Whereas by the peace and composition made with
Louis, king of France, the said king is bound to give the king whatever he had
at the time of the said peace in three cities and dioceses, to wit Limoges, Cahors and Perigueux in fees and
domains, saving the homages of the said king's brothers, if they by chance had
any things there for which they should be his men, and saving the things which
he cannot put out of his hand by the letters of himself and his predecessors
and touching which he was bound to take measures (procurare) with regard
to the possessors or detainers thereof, that the king should have the same within
a certain term now past, and if not, to make an exchange convenient to both
parties by judgment of good men nominated on both sides ;
also to give the king the cost of the maintenance
of 500 knights for two years ;
also to give the value of the land of the Agenais according to its true yearly value,
as assessed by nominees of both parties ;
and whereas inquisition is to be made at the
request of the king of England, by good men elected in common,
whether the land which the count of Poitiers holds in Quercy for his wife in …/
whole or in part, was granted or
delivered to or for the sister of the king of England, the mother of Raymond, count of Toulouse lately deceased, with the land of
the Agenais, in marriage or pledge (gageriam],
and was to be given or restored to the king or his heirs in a certain
manner, as all these things are set forth in the form of peace
;
the king of England nominates and appoints John de la
Lynd, knight and Master William de la Cornere to act as arbitrators in the
above matters with two nominees of the king of France, to wit, the lord of
Viletta, knight, and Master William de Castro Ayraudo, and to do all other
things which belong to the said peace ; and under the joint arbitration (ex
condictu) of the king of France, the king of England and the archbishop of Bordeaux, to do and complete all things touching
the right of the castles of Belvezer and Biggeroke and other land which the
said archbishop claims to hold in the diocese of Perigueux.
Signification to the king of France of the appointment of John de Greyli,
Thomas de Ippegrave and Brunus de Say a, knights, and Master John Dominici,
king's clerk, as the king's proctors in all causes moved in the parliament or
assizes before the king of France and his court as well by or against
the bishop of le Puy and the dean and chapter of that place, the king of Navarre and his subjects, the vicomtesse of
Limoges, the archbishop of Bourges, and Raymond called the vicomte of
Fronsac, as by other persons, ecclesiastical or secular, upon trespasses done
in the king of France's name by anyone and by his
seneschals, ministers and subjects on the death of Senihorius Hespes, the
king's knight, by the occupation of the castle of Gramont (de Acromonte) and
the receiving of the advowson or recognition of the feodage of the said castle,
and of the homage of Fernaldus Willelmi de Agromonte, and the breaking or
violation of the truce between the king and the king of Navarre, upon the authority of the king of France ; and upon all damages and injuries
committed in the cities and dioceses of Limoges, Cahors and Perigueux and elsewhere
; and to receive what is due to the king from the king of France touching those dioceses according
to the peace heretofore made, the value of the Agenais, the cost of 500 knights for two
years, and all other matters contained in the said peace ; and to obtain what
is to be obtained from the above-mentioned arbitrators. [Foedera,

Whereas Archibald, count of Perigord, and Agnes
his wife, by charter, granted to John de Mucegros the manor of Winclesmerse and
all the lands which were of the inheritance of the said Agnes in England, and the hundred of Xorton, for 800
marks, to hold to them and their heirs in perpetuity ; and the said John has
brought the king's writ of warranty of the charter (de warancia carte) upon
the said count and his wife before the justices of the Bench a fortnight after
Midsummer, in order that a fine may be made between them before the said
justices according to the law and the custom of the realm ; and the said Agnes,
being in distant parts beyond seas, cannot appear before the said justices ;
commission to John de la Linde, justice of the Bench, to hear and receive the
recognition which the said Agnes may wish to make before him and to examine her
as pertains to justice, to take the attorney whom she may wish to attorn before
him in the said plea, and to receive her part of the said fine, if such fine
ought to be made, and to send the recognition before the justices at the day
aforesaid.

Notification that upon scrutiny of
the rolls of the Chancery the king has found that from the time when he first
granted to William Ernaldi de Cadylak a yearly fee of 25l. because of his having been disinherited in the
parts of Pergorz, there are in arrear to him 546l., in the whole of
which the king will satisfy him as soon as he can, on condition that if it can
be found at the Exchequer or elsewhere that the king is not bound to him in so
much, the king will cause him to be satisfied in the form aforesaid of what is
due to him.

the dean and chapter of that place, the king of Navarre and his officials, ministers or
subjects, the vicomte of Limoges, the archbishop of Bourges, Raymond, called vicomte of France,
or other persons ecclesiastical or secular, or moved in the king's name against
them ; or touching any trespasses committed by the king's name or authority by
anyone or by the seneschal ministers and subjects of the king of France against the said king of Navarre and vicomte of Limoges, their ministers, households and subjects,
against the king and his land in the death of Seinorius Hospes, the king's
deceased knight, in the occupation of the castle of Gramont (de Acro Monte),in receiving the avowal or recognition of the feodage of the said castle,
the homage of Fernaldus Willelmi de Aero Monte as it is said, and the violation
of the truce between the king and the king of Navarre entered into by the authority of
the king of France and touching losses and injuries
given and received, to demand and receive from the king of France in the king's name all lands and things
in the cities and dioceses of Limoges, Cahors and Perigueux and
elsewhere, which, by the peace and composition made between the king and the
king of France, the latter ought before this to
have handed over within a fixed term, or to make a reasonable exchange for the
same ; to receive what remains to be paid of the cost of 500 knights for two
years ; and to render and receive all other things which ought to be done by
the form of the peace, or arising out of the trespasses and injuries on both
sides ; with power to treat of all these things before the king of France and his court, and before John de
la Lynde and Godfrey de Villata, knights, and Master William de la Corner and
Master William de Castro Aynardo, commissioners for both sides, as though the
king himself were present.

Mandate
to Edward the king's son to give seisin of the temporalities of the
archbishopric of Bordeaux, which were taken into the king's hands by
reason of the voidance of the see to B., archbishop of Bordeaux, who lately came to the king to
have restitution of these and the king has graciously admitted. Et sunt patentes.
In
like manner it is commanded to John de la Linde, seneschal of the Limousin, Quercy and Perigord, to give him
seisin of all the possessions and castles, which in the time of the said
voidance were in the king's hands, to wit of the castles of Bigarroque, Belves (de
Bello Videre), Millac (de Millaco), Couse (de Cosa), La
Mothe-Montravel (de Monte Revel), and the motte of St. Paixent, with the
boroughs, manors and appurtenances thereof.

knight, his proctor for Wednesday after the quinzaine of the Assumption and
following days, if any.

Notification to the king of France that the king has appointed Robert
Waleraund and John de la Linde, knights, and Master Nicholas de plumpton,
archdeacon of Norfolk, as his proctors in the above cause upon the castle of Bergerac for the said Wednesday and any
following days.

The
like of the appointment of Adam de Grenvull and Aldebert le provost as the
king's proctors in the matter of the castle of Gensac which the said Reynold and Margaret
are moving against the king in the court of the king of France on Monday before the Nativity of

king's proctors in the cause before the king of France between the king, of the one part,
and the sais Reynold and Margaret of the other

proctors to swear on the of king's soul, if need be, that the king did not
propound the exceptions propounded for him in the court of the king of France on Sunday last in the said matter
of Gensac maliciously nor for the purpose of delaying the business but because
the king believes that they are true.

Grant, during pleasure, to John de Lynde (de la Lynde, in the margin),seneschal of the Limousin, Quercy (Caturcien')
and Perigord, of 1000l. a year, to be taken
out of the issues of his bailiwick in the same manner and out of the same money
as Bertram de Cadyllac, sometime seneschal of those parts, used to take to
maintain him in the king's service in those parts.
Grant to him, with respect to the king's order
that he should cause 100 or 200 men at arms to come to the castle of Limoges to succour the burgesses of that
castle, that what he has laid out on them in so coming or in replacing any
horses, lost in the king's service, shall be allowed to him by testimony of
good men, in the issues of his bailiwick.

The said William and Simon have a like proxy,
with this addition, so far as pertains to the day … after Martinmas last and days
following the said day.
